and very high Pollution Levels in by the Government of NCT of
Delhi ,the Central Government and the Delhi Traffic Police.

Respected Sir,
I wish to bring to your kind notice about the problems being faced by the
residents of Sector-8, 9, and 12, R.K.Puram, New Delhi
due to the Heavy Vehicular Traffic and high Pollution Levels in and around 8, 9
and 12 R.K.Puram, New Delhi .
While Travelling during the day from :-
(1).Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road) - Moti bagh flyover
crossing towards Westend enclave( Vasant Vihar / Olof Palme Marg / Vasant
Enclave) via Rao Tula Ram Marg (which is touching Sector 8, 9 and 12 , R.K.
Puram, New Delhi on the one side and Shanti Niketan on the other side)
And
(2).From GOING OUT FROM inside the colony of
Sector-9,R.K.Puram,New Delhi via Major Som Nath Marg towards Rao Tula Ram Marg,
it has become very difficult for us to travel upto the Traffic Lights located
at the intersection of Rao Tula Ram Marg and Major Som Nath Marg and
after nearly many stoppages of traffic lights WITHIN A SPAN OF 20 MINUTES, it
becomes an unpleasant experience for us residents of Sector 8,9
and12 R.K. Puram, New Delhi .The duration of Traffic lights at the intersection
going from Som Natha Marg towards Roa Tula Ram Marg and towards Moti Bagh
crossing should be increased from 20 digit displayed to at least 50 digits for
the Traffic Lights.On the spot inspection may kindly be carried out by the
Delhi Police Team to ascertain the difficulties being faced by the residents of
Sector-9,8 and 12 in reaching their homes.
In the morning ( from 9 AM to 11
AM) and evening time(from 5 PM to 7 PM) , the maximum Vehicle going to and
coming from Gurgaon and the Delhi airport pass through these roads. i.e. nearly
75 % of the vehicles of Gurgaon visiting Delhi on a daily pass through the area of
R.K.Puram daily-near 8,9 and 12.
As the vehicular traffic is very heavy of Cars and Big Delhi Transport Buses
throughout the day, the residents who wish to travel in either direction from
their residential premises in Sector-8, 9 and 12 face stiff stoppages from Cars
and Big Delhi Transport Buses to come on to the main road (Major Somnath Marg)
and also at the traffic lights at the intersection of Major Somnath Marg and
Rao Tula Ram Marg on these roads. Nearly 15 to 20 minutes are wasted to cross
the traffic lights in many stages. Unnecessary wastage of time and valuable
money in the form of petrol has been the order of the day.
The Petroleum Conservation Research
Association in India
has been carrying out their Advertisements on TV channels and daily newspapers
to save Petrol and the Environment. This unnecessary wastage of Petrol by us is
leading to lots of wastage of Time and financial resources by the residents of R.K.Puram,New Delhi.
Due to large number of vehicles
passing through these roads for going to and coming from Gurgaon / Delhi
Airport through the intersection of Mahatama Gandhi Road near Moti BaghI ,II and Sector -9,R.K.Puram,New Delhi , the high pollution levels through-out the day is making the life of
the residents of R.K.Puram very sick and the residents are in need of constant
medical help to overcome the health problems being created by this heavy
vehicular traffic for the residents.Nearly more than One lakh vehicles pass daily through this area around Sector-9,R.K.Puram,New Delhi
Even the individual sectors (including inside Roads of 9 ,8 and 12 in
R.K.Puram, New Delhi area have become a thorough fare for all the vehicles
coming from and going towards Gurgaon / Delhi Airport. To travel faster towards
Gurgaon / Delhi Airport

I hope the concerned competent authorities in the Delhi State
Government,the Central Government which includes the Home Ministry and the Road Transport Ministry and the Delhi Police(Traffic ), New
Delhi will take urgent steps to regulate the heavy Vehicular Traffic on these
roads, so that the residents of Sector 8, 9 and 12 in R.K.Puram, New Delhi
could be saved from the high pollution levels in the area and the high speeding
cars passing nearby their residential premises day-in and day out. This has
become a nightmare for the residents. Unnecessary wastage of time and valuable
money in the form of petrol and from the constant need for medical help by the
residents due to very high pollution levels could be avoided if the government
authorities are serious in the matter.
